XREAL has announced US pricing for AURA, a wired spatial-computing glasses system that uses Android XR and a separate computing puck. The entry configuration is priced at $1,279, while a higher-memory version is $1,499, according to the company’s October 11 US buying guide.
The base model includes 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage; the other configuration has 16 GB and 512 GB. XREAL’s October 7 ordering announcement initially opened completed preorders to eligible customers who had made an earlier reservation, with wider ordering planned later. A reservation and a completed purchase are different steps, and current eligibility should be checked at the local store.
Glasses plus a puck
AURA connects the glasses to a wired compute unit. XREAL’s support documentation says the glasses can also act as a display for compatible devices without the puck, but Android XR capabilities such as hand tracking and spatial computing require the full system.
The company identifies the United States, Canada, Japan and South Korea as initial shipping markets. Its guidance describes expected shipping before the holidays, subject to production and logistics; that is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date.
The broader question
AURA illustrates the industry’s effort to move spatial computing into lighter eyewear while retaining a separate processor and battery. Price, comfort, software support and the restrictions of a tethered design will determine how attractive the approach is in practice. Regional prices and availability may differ from the announced US figures.
